Fine Art Sculptor in bronze, clay and resin
[email protected]
Figurative sculpture has been a passion of mine all my life. In earlier years, sculpting was a hobby while I was employed as a chemist. Then came part-time jobs and the raising of two children, and, finally, came the time when I could delicate most of my time to art.
As a classical figurative sculptor, I thrive to understand and express the dynamics, beauty and emotions of the realistic human form. The challenge of working in three dimensions intrigues me. I hope through my creations, at least in a small way, to bring joy into other people’s lives.
I work directly from models with different groups in the Bay Area, including Carol Tarzier’s. Quite recently, we started our own sculpting group in Oakland. I have studied at the Adult School in Orinda with Anne Fisher, at Studio One in Oakland with Sahava Sherez and Lourdam Kimbrell, and at Fort Mason in San Francisco with Carol Tarzier. My studies continued with hands-on classes in Anatomy for Artists in Berkeley taught by Steven Perkins and Eugene Daub. Most recently, I took a class in Figurative Drawing taught by Stephen Perkins.
The media I sculpt in are clay and plastalina.
I am a member of ACCI Gallery in Berkeley, California
